Itinerary for 4 Days from Marrakech to desert
Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Ben haddou – Boumalene du Dades
After picking you up from Merrakech at your residence, we will set off to discover the beautiful and breathtaking scenery of Dades Gorges. On the road, you will get to see the high mountain pass known as Tizi n Tichka. Afterwards, we will give visit to one of Morocco’s stunning historical monuments: The Ait Ben Hddou kasbah, an ancient adobe fortress belt by the local Berbers and is considered to be a world heritage by the UNESCO. In fact, this place is home to several American and international movies like, Lawrence of Arabia, the Gladiator, one of Game of Thrones’ scenes is shot at Ait Ben Hddou. After having lunch, our tour will stop by Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazat, a stunning town that depicts the gorgeous and skilled architecture of the Amazigh or Berber people. During our stay here, we will march through the ancient town, discover its mysterious buildings, and why not gather some meaningful souvenirs. Heading to El Kelaa des M’Gouna to see the Valley of the Roses wherein an annual festival of roses is held, our tourists will observe the amazing roses and the surrounding Berber villages of the area. Next, we will spend the night at Boumalne Dades, a town in Tinghir province.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Toudgha Gorges – Ramlia Village
Waking up to the beautiful scenery of the roses of the valley and having our breakfast in the middle of this exquisite milieu, our tour will kick off at around( which time) from Boumaln Dades and head to The south east of Morocco, exactly to Ramlia, an area where mystery meets reality, time seems frozen and people are very traditional. Before arriving at our destination, we will pass by various and wonderful places such as, the Dades valley, todgha Gorges, Alnif and then we will take an off-road to Tazoulate, Fzou, and Hi Fougani. En route, we will have a picnic and enjoy the wonders of the surrounding places before arriving at Ramlia. Here, we will have the opportunity to meet the locals, explore Ramlia village, and visit Ramlia Children’s literacy fund. Finally, we will spend the night at a small Berber guest house.
Day 3: Ramlia Village – Merzouga
The third day is unique for we are going to visit one of Morocco’s vibrant touristic destinations; Erg Chebbi, Merzouga, a place known for its amazing high sand dunes that rise high up the sky. So, after breakfast, we will start our desert trip; we will pass through the grave stones of Taouz towards Khamlia where we will have lunch at a Gnawi owned restaurant and, also, get the chance to hear the mesmerizing Gnawi music, a type of music that has roots in sub-Saharan Africa. Afterwards, we will drive to a nearby hotel for some refreshments before we embark on a camel ride to the desert. We will leave our unnecessary luggage at the hotel in safety, so that we will enjoy our 90 minute camel trek to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, known as the highest in North Africa. Generally, the camp consists of very comfortable Berber tents that are equipped with fine mattresses and furniture, a nice restaurant, a kitchen and a natural-like toilet. In the camp, we will spend an amazing evening which will consist of delicious dinner, and traditional Berber drum songs playing under the starry dark sky around the fire.
Day 4: Merzouga – Fez
At sunrise time, we will wake up to climb the sand dunes in order catch some memorable moments with our cameras. Then, we will head back to the hotel to take a shower and next have breakfast so that we will be ready to set off for Fes, Morocco’s cultural capital. On the way to our destination, we will be able to see different cities and towns such as, Arfoud, Errachidia, the Ziz valley, and Midelt. In addition, we will pass through the gorgeous cedar forest and see the little adorable monkey troupes of Azrou all the way to Ifran, a town in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains. Finally, we will drop you back at your Riad/hotel in Fes.
